Tips for Parents Raising Children in a Digital World
How young is too young for children to play on a tablet?
What are some good apps for children?
Are video games safe for kids?
Should screen time be limited?
These are just some of the questions that many teachers and parents have been asking. Doctors and researchers have been just as curious, too, so the American Academy of Pediatrics held a symposium in May, 2015 to bring interested professionals from across disciplines to address these issues.
Some of the tips include:
- Media is an environment just like a school, home or neighborhood playground.
- Everything in a child’s life needs reasonable limits, and that includes technology.
- Adults should make informed decisions about apps their children use.
